CHE 2204 - Chemistry of Metals in BiologyCredits: 4 This non-quantitative course introduces biochemistry, biology, chemistry, and environmental policy and science majors to the chemistry of transition metals. After studying the fundamentals, the focus will be the practical and biological implications of this area of inorganic chemistry. These may include: the role of transition metals in medicine, electron transport, nitrogen fixation, oxygen transport and storage, and iron sequestration. Prerequisites Chemistry 1102.
