CUR 531 - Teacher Leaders: Coaching

This interactive course explores the expanding roles, responsibilities, skill needs, and rewards of the mentoring aspects of teacher leadership. Candidates will increase personal awareness of their leadership strengths and needs and build skills in coaching and mentoring to enhance professional performance in themselves and others.

Emphasis is placed upon building relationship and facilitation skills to meet the challenges inherent in the everyday work of school improvement. Students are encouraged to apply a variety of professional tools and strategies that are designed to develop their problem-solving skills, expand their leadership experiences, and maximize their contributions to school improvement.
