MUL 1134 - Music in Multicultural America

A study of music through its elements: rhythm, melody, harmony, form, timbre, genre; a survey of three marginalized groups in the United States including African-American, Native American and Latin American musical styles.  Increased listening perception in all types of music from these three cultures and the implications and
functions of each cultures’s music is the course goal.
