THE 512 - Theatre and Drama in the Classroom

A survey course with participatory element, providing background on educational theatre methodology and trends. Specific attention given to theatrical styles in Story Theatre, Participation Theatre, and exercises in Multicultural approaches to theatre in education. Students will examine published dramatic literature, adaptable for classroom use. Students will be introduced and practice several specific drama conventions, which can be used to enhance curricular lessons in reading, history, social studies, even science and math as well as drama.
