Learning Technology Specialist (LTS) Post-Baccalaureate Certificate

Overview

Contact: Dr. Ramona A. Kerby

The Online Post-Baccalaureate Learning Technologies Specialist Certificate Program is designed for PreK-12 teachers and administrators to become effective planners, designers, developers, evaluators, and leaders in the use of technology for teaching and learning.  Each course has a theoretical and practical component.  Candidates’ assignments are plans, projects, and learning activities that can be used in their own educational settings.

The core courses’ content and assessments reflect the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Coaches Standards.  The elective provides each candidate a choice to further explore an additional area of study, such as multimedia development or strategies for teaching the digital generation.

Taught online in 8-week sessions, the 4 core courses and 1 elective may be taken in any order.  Candidates are able to complete the certificate in one year without having to take more than one course at a time.  Upon successful completion of the 5 courses, candidates receive the Certificate in Learning Technologies Specialist.

Completers also have the option to transfer all of the courses in this certificate to an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction as an area of specialization. NOTE: The LTS elective course in the sequence must be CUR 505: Differentiation and Technology if candidates are pursuing both the LTS certificate and the MS in Curriculum and Instruction.
