CED 523 - At Risk Student Interventions Credits: 3 This course provides an overview of the physical, emotional, and environmental factors that result in behavioral problems and low achievement in schools. Topics will include the prevalent mental health, family and societal issues that affect school classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and playgrounds. Standards and innovative strategies to meet the needs of troubled students will be covered as well as ideas for effective case management. Certification in Therapeutic Aggression Control Techniques (TACT2) will be included as part of the course curriculum.
