RDS 544 - Early Literacy Intervention Credits: 3 Note Reading Specialist Candidates only *Throughout the semester, candidates need access to a kindergarten or first grade reader. This course examines intervention techniques and strategies for at-risk emergent and early readers. The course content addresses oral language, alphabetic knowledge, print concepts, and strategic reading behaviors. Candidates systematically analyze assessment data, implement instructional plans, and evaluate student performance in a longitudinal case study format.
