Students can gain clinical volunteer experience by working at the University of Maryland Medical Center during Jan. Term. Most students work in the UMMC Shock Trauma Center, but other opportunities are available.
Additional Information: IMPORTANT - Registration does not guarantee internship placement. Students must complete and submit the following forms to UMMC by the deadline specified by Dr. Parrish: 1) Volunteer Application, 2) UMMC Volunteer Screening Form—Volunteer Services (requires documentation of vaccinations and tuberculosis testing), 3) Confidentiality of Information Statement, 4) Behavioral Standards, 5) Dress Code and Personal Appearance Expectations, and 6) Disclosure and Authorization Form. Students must also successfully complete an interview at University of Maryland Medical Center prior to the internship. Please note: students are responsible for their own transportation to the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.
