MLA 502 - Our Historic Heritage Credits: 3 This course will explore select global historical periods, movements, and figures, beginning with the ancient world, through the lens of the social sciences, with emphasis on critically employing these approaches to understand cultural heritage from global perspective. Historical, sociological, anthropological, political science, economic, and psychological approaches will be used to study a variety of topics influential throughout global history. Candidates evaluate and compare the impacts of various periods, movements, and figures through class discussion and informal writing assignments. Candidates also design their own investigation into a topic of their choice through a formal written project with an oral/virtual presentation component.
