PDE 550 - Youth Suicide Prevention

This course will focus on understanding how a person’s mental health is reflective of and reflects on the thoughts, attempts, and completions of suicide. Course topics include best practices for triage assessments, warning signs, what to do is you know someone is at risk, suicides in different communities, and how to keep yourself mentally fit. This course meets the educational requirements outlined in Lauryn’s Law for School Counselors in Maryland.
