CUR 507 - Social and Emotional Learning Credits: 3 This course prepares educators to go beyond focusing on students’ academic skills by integrating the social and emotional learning (SEL) which is critical to long-term success in and out of school. SEL supports achievement by teaching students how to manage their emotions, set goals, make decisions, express empathy, and maintain positive relationships. Candidates will examine new ways to strengthen compassion, cooperation, collaboration, and achievement and apply these in their school settings.
