EDL 505 - Leading School Improvement and Change

Course content includes both the leadership and procedural elements that are critical to creating a culture of continuous improvement that engages both staff and the community in the process of productive change. Candidates will apply knowledge and skills necessary to engage families, the community, and school personnel in order to strengthen student learning and support school improvement. Emphasis is placed on the power of a strong vision and mission that are sustained through collaboration, communication, and strategic improvement initiatives. The content of the course along with assigned field study experiences will provide for practical application of the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (PSEL) and the National Educational Leadership Preparation (NELP) Standards.
