EDL 502 - Role of the Principal Credits: 3.00 This course presents an overview of the role and responsibilities of the school principal. Candidates will explore the ethical norms of leadership and how the professional dispositions of fairness, integrity, trust, digital citizenship, collaboration, and lifelong learning support the educational success and well-being of each student and adult under the leader’s care. Candidates will also study how the school leader manages and improves communication, technology, school-level governance, and operation systems to ensure equitable application of resources, policies, and regulations. The content of the course along with assigned field study experiences will provide for practical application of the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (PSEL) and the National Educational Leadership Preparation (NELP) Standards.
