EDU 576 - Whole Child/Student Educator SEL

Note EDU 575 is recommended as a prerequisite but not required.
This course is designed for teachers seeking strategies to implement Social Emotional Learning (SEL) for students. Teachers will explore current research in psychology, social science, and brain science to develop best practices in SEL. Teachers will also learn strategies to help them rethink instruction to intentionally include the CASEL Framework (2022) for Social Emotional Learning. Candidates will deepen their student SEL knowledge through weekly readings, activities, and reflections—both alone and with an accountability partner and/or group.
