EDU 561 - Impact of Trauma on Student Learning

This course explores childhood trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), positive childhood experiences, and the impact trauma has on the development of the human brain. Topics include the impact of trauma on student learning, building relationships, fostering a supportive and compassionate environment, and self-care for professionals. Candidates will complete an ACEs questionnaire, a student case study, and design a project to foster a more compassionate and supportive environment for children and adolescents affected by trauma.
