EDU 2015 - Literacy Processes and Acquisition

Credits: 4
This course examines the acquisition of literacy, the foundations of reading development, and the interactive nature of the reading process. The course content addresses cognitive development, language acquisition, phonological awareness, phonics, and vocabulary knowledge in relationship to literacy acquisition. Candidates will also explore the purposes for reading and various text formats within a responsive literacy program.
Prerequisite(s) EDU-1141 with a grade of C or higher
