Credits: 4
Using research projects, field trips, and guest lecturers, Research as an Introduction to the Liberal Arts will provide an understanding of research’s role in the academic environment and it will provide students with the tools necessary to do quality research. The course will also inform McDaniel College Budapest Students about the city in which they study. The course will be divided into three sections: The History of the Role of Research (diagnostic), The Research Process (skill-building), and Researching Hungary (application). Students will create research teams. These teams will take on a different research project for each section of the course. The teams will present their findings to the class orally and in an outline format, and then lead a discussion on their subject.
