FYS 1272 - Being and Belonging in America

This First Year Seminar is specially designed for new, inbound international students to be immersed in their new learning community and life in the United States. It will examine salient features of dominant cultural patterns in the United States and specific regions within its borders. Students will engage with a variety of texts representing diverse perspectives on what it means to be “American” today, including memoirs, interviews, poetry, films and music.
