FYS 1999 - Foundation for Your SuccessCredits: 4 This course provides an additional opportunity for students to fulfill the First-Year Seminar requirement, emphasizing skill-building and academic success strategies to support their transition to college-level learning. The course helps students develop goals, understand metacognition, learn various strategies and study skills for future academic success, and develop personalized action plans for degree completion. Students will identify their strengths, reflect on past challenges, and recognize opportunities for growth. Topics include but are not limited to: motivation, time management, organization, planning, learning preferences and strategies, stress management and wellness. Students will have opportunities to develop research and oral presentation skills through class assignments. Students will also learn about the many resources and opportunities at McDaniel College which are in place to support and enhance their journey.
