DED 512 - Special Education for Deaf Learners


Credits: 3
This course provides an in-depth exploration of inclusive special education practices for Deaf  learners with additional disabilities. Emphasis is placed on understanding the intersection of  Deafness and multiple disabilities and their impact on learning and development. Topics include evidence-based instructional strategies, overview of the IEP, accommodations, classroom management, assessment methods, and considerations of the learning environment. The course also highlights the importance of collaboration with families, educators, and interdisciplinary teams to support holistic and equitable education for Deaf learners with diverse needs.
