Return to: Academic Programs of Study
The five year Masters in Counselor Education allows students to apply for acceptance into McDaniel’s graduate Counselor Education program the first semester of the junior year. If accepted, students will take a graduate course each of the three remaining semesters as undergraduates. With an additional summer semester and a full year, students can earn their Masters specializing in Community Mental Health. Students interested in pursuing a specialization in school counseling are required to take an additional semester the following year. The baccalaureate degree is granted separately when 128 undergraduate credit hours have been completed.
Typically students are accepted from the psychology or social work departments. Admission is based primarily on grades, recommendations and an interview. Contact Dr. Paul Mazerof, Department of Psychology.
