Overview
The Equity and Excellence in Education Certificate Program will prepare candidates to be well-versed in the competencies to teach in classrooms with diverse student populations; to understand the foundations of becoming a culturally responsive social justice educator; be able to serve as change agents in public school setting working to create a more equitable environment for students of diverse backgrounds; to understand how to create curriculum materials which challenge current oppressive structures in school systems; to be involved in creating and influencing education policy that affect both classrooms and communities. McDaniel College will award a certificate for completion of this series of five three-credit courses. Completers may continue to take coursework through McDaniel leading to the M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction. Admissions Requirements
Candidates must submit: - application for graduate study with non-refundable fee
- official transcript conferring bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
