TESOL Praxis II Prep

McDaniel offers the opportunity for certified teachers to complete graduate courses preparing for advance certification in Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Candidates will gain updated knowledge in working with English Language Learners, enhance their resume while providing opportunity for personal professional development.

Certification is the domain of the Maryland State Department of Education so courses taken at other higher education institutions are subject to approval by certification personnel in either the MSDE Certification Office or in the local school system Human Resources Office.

Admissions Requirements

Candidates required to submit:

application for graduate study with non-refundable fee
official transcript conferring bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Consult with Program Coordinator to determine which courses are need to successfully meet your program goals and pass Praxis II.

Additional Information

All candidates seeking the TESOL certificate must attain a satisfactory score on the Praxis II test (0361), established by MSDE.

A transcript review will be required to determine which courses may have been completed and meet the MSDE requirements.
