History Major

Required:

• HIS 4492 - History Colloquium
•  Ten electives in History. (Two of the 10 electives must be 3000 or 4000-level seminars.)

      One course in each of the following catagories:(Must be above the 1000-level)

• Ancient World or Europe before 1789
• Modern Europe (since 1789)
• America
• Asia

        Six additional courses (Only one course may be at the 1000-level)

Departmental Writing Requirement

DEPARTMENTAL WRITING REQUIREMENT:  Students who major in History are required to take TWO 3000-level seminars, one of which must be taken before the Senior year.
