Required:

• AHY 1113 - History of Western Art I
• AHY 1114 - History of Western Art II
• Seven additional art history courses, excluding AHY 1113, 1114, and 3200, two of which must be International Nonwestern (28 credits)
• One studio art course - (4 credits)
• AHY 4491 - Independent Capstone Research
• AHY 4492 - Seminar in Art History - Capstone Seminar

• PHI 1113 - Greek and Roman Philosophy
• PHI 1114 - Philosophy from the Renaissance to Contemporary Times
• PHI 2222 - Philosophy of Art

Departmental Writing Requirement

DEPARTMENTAL WRITING REQUIREMENT: Students who major in Art and Art History are required to take:

• AHY 3200 - Writing in Art and Art History

Note

It is beneficial for students wishing to pursue graduate studies in Art History to have two years of a world language, French or German, and a semester abroad.
