Overview
Contact: Dr. Ramona A. Kerby
The Online Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program in Writing for Children and Young Adults is designed to create publishable writers in the children’s and young adult market. The certificate program offers a comprehensive approach to writing and incorporates an analysis of works by current and successful writers, informed practice in the mechanics of writing fiction and nonfiction, and opportunities to create manuscripts. Candidates actively participate in a collaborative and supportive learning environment where they implement a variety of successful writing strategies, including the art of using feedback, reflection, and revision and where they create a strong professional network to help them meet their publishing objectives.
Taught in 8-week sessions, each course is taught by respected editors and writers. Upon successful completion of the 5 courses, candidates receive the Certificate in Writing for Children and Young Adults. These courses will count toward a Master of Liberal Arts degree.
