Note: By the end of the program, students must demonstrate competence in American Sign Language (ASL) by completing ASL 2212 with a B- or better. Students wishing to minor in ASL Studies are advised to begin their language study as early as possible.

One (1) ASL 3000-level course from below (4 credits):
Experiential Courses
- ASL 3395 - Internship American Sign Language (2 credits)
OR - ASL 4495 - Internship American Sign Language (2 credits)
Practicums are encouraged, but not required. If a student wishes to have a practicum experience, contact the Department Chair.
- ASL 3100 - ASL House Study (2 credits)
This is encouraged, but not required. May live in the ASL House for one year or attend Gallaudet University for a semester as a visiting student. Contact the Department Chair for more information.
American Sign Language courses (ASL I-IV) may be waived through a placement examination before the beginning of classes. Students who have taken American Sign Language courses elsewhere must take the placement examination before registering.
