Description
Building on the strong core of the Business Administration major, the major in International Business concentrates on developing an understanding of international trade, international finance, the global economic environment, global markets, and greater awareness of world cultures. Study abroad and the development of foreign language fluency are integral components of the program. Our McDaniel Budapest branch campus in Budapest, Hungary provides a beneficial opportunity to study the international business environment in a foreign setting.
Study Abroad or Foreign Language Study (0-4 credits):
Semester of Study Abroad (McDaniel Europe or other approved location)
OR
Foreign Language Study (At least one semester beyond intermediate level in one foreign language. ASL cannot be used to satisfy this requirement.)
International Business Environment (16 credits):
Select four of the courses not used to satisfy International Economics and Finance above:
Departmental Writing Requirement (0-4 credits):
(Selected courses, notated by # symbol, may be used to also satisfy International Business Environment requirement.)
Total Program Hours: 64-72
Requirements for Departmental Honors
Departmental honors are recognized at graduation and are recorded on the students’ permanent record. To receive departmental honors, students must:
- Have a grade point average of 3.50 in all courses taken in the major.
- Be recommended by the department.
