ETM 520 - Affirming Diversity

Credits: 3
Prerequisites ETM 510
Candidates will apply research-based practices to address and resolve conflict related to sensitive racial and cultural issues in both personal and professional situations. Grounded in theories of multiple perspective-taking, self-actualization, and cognitive dissonance, approaches to conflict resolution will be explored and practiced. A study of current racially and culturally sensitive issues and their historical antecedents will help candidates recognize and identify these issues in their teaching environments and develop strategies to address them.
