PHY 1102 - General Physics IICredits: 4 This is the second course in the two-semester, introductory, calculus-based General Physics sequence. In this course we cover the fundamental ideas of electricity and magnetism, the influence of electromagnetic fields on particles, Maxwell’s equations, circuits and circuit analysis, geometric and physical optics, and Einstein’s theory of relativity. The laboratory component of the course is aimed at developing data collection and analysis skills through a series of experiments in electromagnetism and optics and must be enrolled in separately. Co-requisite PHY 1001 General Physics II Lab
MAT 1117 or permission of the instructor McDaniel Plan: Scientific Inquiry with Laboratory.
