SWK 3355 - Aging and Social IdentityCredits: 4 This course examines the intersection of social identities such as gender race, culture, sexual orientation, ability/disability and class on human development in adulthood from mid life through death. Specific topics will include the social construction of age and ageism, gendered models of psychological development, relationships, family, sexuality, health, mental health, work and retirement, elder abuse, substance abuse and end of life issues.
