GSC 1110 - Observational AstronomyCredits: 4 This course is a study of the observational techniques used by astronomers, the constellations, stars and stellar evolution, motion of celestial bodies and cosmology. Approximately 1/3 of the course consists of hands-on activities which emphasize the experimental aspects of the astronomical science, how astronomers collect and interpret experimental data in the laboratory and how they formulate theories about the celestial bodies.
