IDS 1152 - African-American Culture: Three PerspectivesCredits: 4 This interdisciplinary course explores African- American culture from a literary, musical, and sociological perspective. While these perspectives represent distinct fields of study, they also intersect and complement one another. Exploring a text from various vantage points, provides a fuller context and broadens and complicates its interpretation. Such a multidisciplinary approach leads students to a fuller understanding and appreciation of the specific works under consideration and of African- American culture as a whole.
