ECO 2206 - Gender Roles in the Economy This course surveys some of the major discussions in feminist economics. It explores the gender dimensions of paid labor and how gender roles in unpaid work and in care labor impact how men and women participate in the formal economy, informal economy, and shadow economy. It looks at ways the household is modeled in economics and some of the policy implications of these different models. It also explores new research on sex differences in asset ownership, savings, and bankruptcy and their implications. Prerequisites ECO 1103 or ECO 2201 McDaniel Plan: Social, Cultural, and Historical Understanding
