CUR 506 - Responsive Environments for Diverse Populations

This course focuses on promoting student success in social and academic learning through developing safe and responsive school/classroom environments. Topics examined address student experiences that affect success in school such as bullying, trauma, ethnic/racial minority/majority status, linguistic diversity, gender identity, special/gifted educational needs. Candidates will assess the environment of their own schools and/or classrooms in order to develop strategies and obtain resources to create responsive environments that ensure students’ well-being and academic success.
