ETM 521 - Culturally Reflective Instruction

In this course candidates explore the theory of critical pedagogy and examine curricular and educational practices to reveal how pedagogical choices reproduce inequalities or promote success for all students. Topics include critical pedagogy, culturally reflective practice, and culturally responsive teaching. To demonstrate understanding of theory underlying culturally responsive teaching and learning, candidates develop a plan to advance their own culturally reflective practice using critical pedagogy as a conceptual framework.
