PDE 576 - Leadership for Equitable Education

The Leadership for Equitable Education course brings together schoolbased and school- system leaders to increase their knowledge around equity issues and develop their skills as leaders for equitable schools. The course addresses the complex issues of access to educational opportunities for all students, particularly students from marginalized groups. Specifically, participants will investigate how school based or system policies and practices may translate into inequitable learning experiences for students. They will assess and develop their capacity to serve as change agents for equity and excellence. Coursework will explore school structure, teacher preparation and evaluation, and educational research methods to develop plans to promote culturally relevant educational practices and equitable policies.
