The interdisciplinary Health Sciences major helps prepare students for graduate and professional programs in the Healthcare field. All Health Sciences majors complete a common core of required courses and a specialized track of required courses specific to their career goals: athletic training, chiropractic, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physician assistant, or physical therapy.
Each graduate and professional program will have its own unique prerequisite coursework and testing requirements. Therefore, Health Sciences majors are encouraged to identify schools of interest early in their academic career, as additional coursework outside the major may be necessary.
For additional information regarding the tracks in athletic training, chiropractic, occupational therapy, and/or physical therapy, please contact Dr. Steve McCole or Dr. Jennifer McKenzie in the Kinesiology department.
For additional information regarding the tracks in nursing, pharmacy, and/or physician assistant, please contact Dr. Dana Ferraris in the Chemistry department.
Departmental Honors: A 3.50 GPA in all courses taken in the major and recommendation by the Chemistry and Kinesiology departments
