History Major

Required:

Eleven courses in History, two of which must be 3000-level seminars

•     Four courses, one above the 1000-level in each of the following categories:

                             Ancient World or Europe before 1789

                              Modern Europe (since 1789)

                              America

                              Asia

•     Six additional History courses, only one of which may be at the 1000-level

• HIS 4492 - History Colloquium

Departmental Writing Requirement

DEPARTMENTAL WRITING REQUIREMENT:  Students who major in History are required to take TWO 3000-level seminars, one of which must be taken in the Junior year.
