Culturally Proficient Teaching (CPT) Certificate

Overview


The Culturally Proficient Teaching Certificate is an 18 credit-hour program that helps educators gain an understanding of culturally responsive instruction and leadership.  Candidates examine research-based best practices from the fields of Education that is Multicultural, English Learner Education, and Special Education.  This program prepares educators for changing demographics in 21st century schools by providing knowledge, skills, and dispositions to better meet the needs of diverse learners.  Coursework will address intercultural communication and second language learning; culturally supportive learning environments; identification and reduction of bias, prejudice, harassment, and discrimination; and the development of inclusive and equitable classrooms. McDaniel will award a certificate for completion of the series of six courses. 

Admissions Requirements


 

Candidates required to submit:

  • application for graduate study with non-refundable fee
  • official undergraduate transcript conferring bachelor’s degree from accredited institution
