Culturally Proficient Teaching (CPT) Certificate

Overview

The Culturally Proficient Teaching Certificate is an 18 credit-hour program that helps educators gain an understanding of culturally responsive instruction and leadership.  Candidates examine research-based best practices from the fields of Education that is Multicultural, English Learner Education, and Special Education.  This program prepares educators for changing demographics in 21^st century schools by providing knowledge, skills, and dispositions to better meet the needs of diverse learners.  Coursework will address intercultural communication and second language learning; culturally supportive learning environments; identification and reduction of bias, prejudice, harassment, and discrimination; and the development of inclusive and equitable classrooms. McDaniel will award a certificate for completion of the series of six courses. 

Admissions Requirements

Candidates required to submit:

• application for graduate study with non-refundable fee
• official undergraduate transcript conferring bachelor’s degree from accredited institution
