Computer Science – Mathematics Dual Major

Required:

• CSC 1106 - The Art of Programming
• CSC 1109 - Discrete Mathematics
• CSC 2209 - Computer Organization
• CSC 2217 - Data Structures
• CSC 3314 - Theory of Computation
• CSC 3317 - Algorithms
• At least two additional four-credit courses in Computer Science, 2000 level or above (excluding CSC 2295 and CSC 3395)
• CSC 4494 - Senior Project
• MAT 1118 - Calculus II
• MAT 2210 - Numerical Methods
• MAT 2218 - Linear Algebra
• MAT 2224 - Fundamentals of Mathematics
• MAT 3391 - Mathematics Problems Seminar (Two hours are required. This will necessitate taking the course in two different semesters.)
• MAT 4406 - Abstract Algebra
• At least two additional four-credit courses in Mathematics, 2000 level or above (excluding MAT 2242, MAT 3342, MAT 2295, MAT 3395, and MAT 4495)
• MAT 4494 - Capstone Experience in Mathematics

Departmental Writing Requirement

DEPARTMENTAL WRITING REQUIREMENT:  Students who dual major in Computer Science and Mathematics are required to take MAT-3391 and ONE of the following any semester after the first year.

• ENG 2206 - Creative Writing—Poetry
• ENG 2207 - Creative Writing—Fiction
• ENG 2208 - Advanced Composition
• ENG 2212 - Professional Communication
• PHI 3200 - Writing in Philosophy
• Any 3000-level History (HIS) course
