EPE 3121 - Group Fitness InstructorCredits: 4.00 Students will gain an understanding of human movements using appropriate anatomical and mechanical terminology and analyze biomechanical aspects of resistance, cardiovascular endurance, speed, flexibility, and plyometric training. Students will examine the personal trainers’ scope of practice, professional guidelines, and will identify their professional and legal responsibilities in a variety of settings. Students will have the opportunity to conduct client consultations, health appraisals and assessments, comprehensive fitness evaluations, client-trainer contract agreements and design and implement individualized exercise prescriptions for a variety of clients. This course is designed to give students the knowledge and understanding necessary to become effective personal trainers. Case studies, exercise prescriptions and practical applications will all be introduced. Prerequisites/Co-requisites Biology 1120
