Credits:4 The History capstone, taken in the fall of the senior year, is a semester-long seminar in which students conduct original and independent research on a topic approved by the instructor, and produce a journal-length paper that meets the standards of the History profession. At the end of the semester they defend their research orally before the faculty of the History Department.
