PSI 3203 - Global Challenges in BiopoliticsCredits: 4 The course is designed to give students an interdisciplinary overview of biopolitical issues with an international focus. It will provide insights into the basic concepts that biopolitical theorists use to describe the challenges that our biotechnological societies face since the late 19th century. The course will examine old and new biopolitical problems such as eugenics, liberal eugenics, biomedicalization, reproductive choice, human enhancement, and human rights. The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the most recent theoretical knowledge and equip them with tools that enable them to recognize biopolitical questions and be able to develop critical standpoints accordingly.
