PHI 1115 - Philosophy and MusicCredits: 4 This course introduces students to the relation between the study of philosophy and music. Some approaches include the history of philosophical reflection on music, perspectives from sociology and psychology and the study of concepts/theories of music composition. The focus throughout the course will be upon not only analyzing and critiquing these perspectives and theories, but also upon applying them to better understand, evaluate, and appreciate music.
